The beach is the reason to come. Eagle Beach in front of the resort is wide, soft, and far less crowded than the wall of high-rises up at Palm Beach, and the resort's low-rise footprint means it never feels like you are sharing the sand with a thousand people. We would put the beach itself in the top tier anywhere in the Caribbean, and that is not a claim we make loosely. The property spreads across roughly 14 acres, which is a lot of room for only 104 units.
On the rooms, here is where we stay in our lane, because we have not slept in them. What guests consistently report is that the standard rooms are comfortable and the beachfront views are excellent, with the higher room classes moving you closer to the water and into the more recently updated suites. The most common honest criticism in guest feedback is that some of the room decor and bathroom fixtures can feel a little dated relative to the price, particularly in the entry-level categories. If a brand-new, design-forward interior is important to you, look closely at photos of the specific room class you are booking rather than assuming everything is freshly renovated.
The dining is a real strength. Elements is the beachfront restaurant and has been named the top fine-dining restaurant in the Caribbean by TripAdvisor's Travelers' Choice, and it runs a fully electric, fossil-fuel-free kitchen in keeping with the resort's sustainability work. SandBar is the casual beach bar and lounge. The headline addition is Terra by Jeremy Ford, led by the Top Chef winner whose Miami restaurant holds both a Michelin Star and a Michelin Green Star, which makes Terra a genuine destination restaurant in its own right, not just a hotel dining room. The price is real. Bucuti and Tara sits among the most expensive stays on the island, and in peak season the rate premium over a comparable Palm Beach room is significant. You are paying for scarcity, service, and the beach, not for square footage or gadgets. If value-per-dollar of physical room is your metric, you can do better elsewhere.
It is not all-inclusive. The rate includes a full American breakfast, and there is an optional half-pension dine-around plan, but drinks, most meals, and extras are billed as you go. Couples who like to know the full cost up front sometimes find that a surprise.
Adults-only cuts both ways. It is the entire appeal for couples and a hard stop for families. Do not book this for a multi-generational trip and expect an exception; there is not one.
Quiet is the product. This is a resort designed around calm, not stimulation.
