Aruba has no Uber, and airport taxis run on government-fixed cash fares. Plan the ride here and land with the price already settled and a driver holding your name.

Why prebook, honestly
Aruba has no Uber. Airport taxis are fine, but fares are government-fixed and cash: about $40 to Palm Beach, $38 to Eagle Beach, $26 to Oranjestad, plus $5 at night, on Sundays, and on holidays (official tariff, taxi.aw). A prebooked car costs in the same range, takes cards, tracks your flight if it runs late, and the driver is at arrivals with your name, so nobody is negotiating anything after a four-hour flight.

First, the honest check
You might already be partly covered
Some credit cards include trip-cancellation cover when you paid the trip with the card, and some US health plans reimburse emergency care abroad (Medicare itself does not; some Medigap plans add a capped emergency benefit). Five minutes with your card benefits page and your insurer tells you what gap is actually left, so you buy cover once, not twice. What usually is not covered anywhere: medical evacuation, which is exactly the $15,000 to $25,000 line item in the estimator.
