Privacy Policy

Aruba Playbook (“we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by Henry Rodgers. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We respect your privacy and only collect what we need to operate the site and deliver the products and services you request.

1. Information we collect

  • Information you provide: email address (when you subscribe to the newsletter or request a free download), and any details you submit through contact, checkout, or trip-planning forms (such as name, dates, group size, and preferences).
  • Payment information: when you purchase a digital product, payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we only receive a confirmation and the email address you used at checkout.
  • Automatically collected data: standard log information (IP address, browser, device, referring URL, pages visited) collected via Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity for traffic analysis and UX improvements. Clarity may record anonymized session replays of how you interact with the site.
  • Cookies: we use first-party cookies to remember your preferences and third-party cookies from our analytics and affiliate partners. You can disable cookies in your browser.

2. How we use your information

  • To deliver products you purchase (digital map links, itinerary PDFs, survival kit).
  • To send the newsletter and follow-up emails you opted in to (via Beehiiv and Resend).
  • To respond to messages and trip planning inquiries.
  • To measure traffic, improve the site, and detect abuse.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data. Ever.

3. Third-party services

We share limited data with the following providers strictly to operate the site:

  • Stripe (payment processing)
  • Resend (transactional email delivery)
  • Beehiiv (newsletter)
  • Google Analytics 4 (traffic analytics)
  • Microsoft Clarity (heatmaps and session analytics)
  • Vercel (hosting)

When you click an affiliate link (Viator, Travelpayouts, DiscoverCars, Stay22), you leave our site and become subject to that provider’s privacy policy.

4. Your rights

If you are in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with data protection laws (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA), you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to processing. To exercise any of these rights, email info@arubaplaybook.com and we will respond within 30 days.

5. Data retention

We retain order records for 7 years to comply with tax requirements. Newsletter subscribers stay on the list until they unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics defaults (currently 14 months).

6. Children

Aruba Playbook is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new “last updated” date.
