Ten minutes inland from the strip the island turns into cunucu: dry hills, cactus fences, goats, the occasional donkey, and trails with no cars on them at all. This ranch has been taking riders through it since 1996, on horses chosen for calm temperaments and a smooth walk, which is why so many of its guests are first-timers.
The ride ends at Urirama, a cove on the northeast coast where the sea arrives with some force and the cliffs frame the photographs. The photographs on this page are the ranch's own, from these trails.

Hotel pickup covers hotels from Renaissance Ocean Suites up to The Ritz-Carlton. Reconfirm your pickup time and wait outside the lobby. Cruise ship guests meet outside the food shop at the Citgo gas station. With your own car, arrive 20 minutes early and park for free.

Meet your horse
A waiver, a few minutes of instruction, a helmet, and a horse matched to how much you have ridden. Every rider must be in good physical and mental condition and able to mount and control their own horse. Helmets are mandatory for riders under 15.
The trail
Into the cunucu
The countryside behind the ranch has no streets and no traffic, only cactus, divi-divi trees and the animals that live between them: iguanas, parakeets, the odd donkey. The pace is a walk, the guide rides with you the whole way, and galloping is not allowed.

On the way out you pass the historic quartz stone mine, one of the island's older working places, and the first views of the coast open up between the hills.

A secluded cove on the northeast coast where the Caribbean comes in hard against the rocks, cliffs on both sides, and time for photographs before the horses turn for home.

A cold drink at the country bar if you want one, then the ride back to your pickup point. Bar beverages, snacks for the horses and optional guide tips are cash only and are not included in the ride price. Settle your ride balance at the ranch before mounting.

We set your ride with the ranch, then a secure deposit link lands in your inbox: $31 per rider, equal to 20% of the $155 ride fare. The full price is $165.85 including 7% tax. Pay the remaining $134.85 at the ranch before you mount, in cash or by credit card. Card payments at the ranch carry an extra surcharge, confirmed before payment. Every departure needs at least two riders.

Three quiet steps, no surprises
Pick your day, hour and riders
Monday to Saturday at 7:00 AM, 10:00 AM or 2:30 PM. Riders, ages of the children, riding experience, pickup or your own car. The form does the arithmetic.
The deposit confirms it
Once a departure with at least two riders is arranged, the secure deposit link arrives by email: $31 per rider, 20% of the ride fare. The booking is confirmed once the deposit is paid.
Pickup, saddle up, ride
Reconfirm your pickup time. Wait outside your hotel lobby, or outside the Citgo food shop for cruise pickup. If driving, arrive 20 minutes early. Pay the balance at the ranch in cash or by credit card with a surcharge, then meet your horse.
Cancel 48 hours or more ahead and the deposit comes back in full. If the ranch calls the ride off for weather or trail conditions, you get every cent back, always, or the next good day if you prefer. What is refundable, and who refunds it.

Which days and times does it run?
