The smooth horses
A gait made for first-timers
The Paso Fino is the horse the Spanish brought to the Caribbean, bred for a gait so even you can carry a full cup at a walk. It is the reason this crew's reviews are full of people who had never ridden and got off wanting more. The ride goes inland through the cacti first, then over the hills to Wariruri, where the north coast breaks under a small natural bridge of rock.
Small groups, a guide who rides with you, a photo stop under the arch, and the pickup from the Palm Beach and Oranjestad areas in the price. The photographs on this page are the crew's own, from this trail.
Hoof by hoof
How the ride unfolds
Pickup
From your hotel to the ranch
The crew collects you 30 to 60 minutes before your ride, free anywhere in the Palm Beach and Oranjestad areas, with the exact time on your confirmation; with your own car you arrive at the ranch in Paradera 30 minutes early. Staying at an Airbnb or another address? Give the exact address in the form and the crew checks whether the pickup reaches you before you pay anything.
The ranch
Meet the Paso Finos
Paso Fino horses are a Caribbean breed with Spanish roots, prized for a naturally smooth gait, which is why first-timers get off this ride without the soreness they expected. A helmet, a few instructions, and a horse matched to how much you have ridden.
The trail
Through the cacti
Out of the ranch and into the countryside: cactus, divi-divi and watapana trees, lizards, iguanas, and with luck the island's kinikini and trupial birds. The guide rides with you and keeps the pace to a walk; galloping is not allowed on the trail.
The coast
Wariruri and the little natural bridge
The trail comes over the hills onto the north coast at Wariruri, a wild beach where the sea breaks under a small natural bridge of rock. A short stretch on the sand, photographs under the arch, the breeze off the water. The horses stay out of the sea; the north coast is too rough for that.
About 1 hour 40
Back over the hill
The same trail home, with the ranch and its goats waiting at the end, then the drive back to your hotel. The balance is settled at the ranch before you mount, in cash or by Visa or Mastercard.

Book your ride
Count the riders, morning or afternoon
Pick a date from Monday to Saturday, the 9:00 AM or the 4:00 PM ride, count your riders, and tell us whether the crew collects you or you drive. We set your ride with the crew, then a secure deposit link lands in your inbox: $23 per rider, out of the price. That deposit confirms the booking, and the remaining balance is settled at the ranch on the day, before you mount, in US dollars, in cash or by Visa or Mastercard.

The honest fit
Is this your day?
We would rather lose a booking than put you on the wrong morning. Read both sides.
Book it if
- You have never ridden and want the smoothest horse on the island under you
- You want the north coast the slow way, with a photograph under the natural bridge
- You are a family; children ride their own horse from 6 and share a saddle before that
- You are on a cruise and the 9:00 AM ride fits your port day
Skip it if
- You want to gallop; this trail is walked, with at most a short stretch near the coast
- You expected a beach ride from start to finish; most of the trail is countryside
- A rider is over the 230 lb limit or pregnant
- You need a Sunday; the crew rides Monday to Saturday
Who takes you out
A ranch that breeds for the smooth walk
The crew runs a small ranch in Paradera with Paso Fino horses and keeps its groups intimate on purpose, so the guide can check on every rider on the trail. Their guests come back to the same words in their reviews: sweet horses, friendly guides, and a coast they did not know was there.

How booking works
Three quiet steps, no surprises
Pick your day, ride and riders
Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM or 4:00 PM. Riders, ages of the children, riding experience, pickup in the Palm Beach or Oranjestad area or your own car. The form does the arithmetic.
The deposit confirms it
Your ride is set with the crew, then the secure deposit link arrives by email: $23 per rider, out of the price. The booking is confirmed once that deposit is paid.
Pickup, saddle up, ride
Be outside your lobby at the time on your confirmation, or at the ranch 30 minutes early. Settle the balance at the ranch in cash or by Visa or Mastercard, meet your Paso Fino, and ride to the bridge.
Cancel 48 hours or more ahead and the deposit comes back in full. If the crew calls the ride off for weather or trail conditions, you get every cent back, always, or the next good day if you prefer. What is refundable, and who refunds it.
Good to know
Asked before every ride
How much does the ride to the natural bridge cost?
The price is $116 per rider, the same for every age. A 20 percent deposit by email makes your booking final ($23 per rider); the remaining balance is settled at the ranch on the day, before you mount, in US dollars, in cash or by Visa or Mastercard. The ranch takes no other cards.
Which days and times does it run?
Monday to Saturday, with a morning ride at 9:00 AM and an afternoon ride at 4:00 PM. Count on about an hour and forty minutes in the saddle, plus the pickup.
Where does the free pickup go?
Anywhere in the Palm Beach and Oranjestad areas, free, 30 to 60 minutes before the ride, with the drop-off back at the same address afterwards. Staying at an Airbnb or another address? Enter the exact address in the booking form and we check with the crew whether the pickup reaches you before anything is paid; if it does not, you drive to the ranch in Paradera and arrive 30 minutes early.
Do I need riding experience?
No. The crew welcomes riders from novice to expert and matches the horse to your level. The Paso Fino gait is unusually smooth, and the pace is a walk; galloping is not allowed on the trail, although the guide may allow a short stretch near the coast for riders who can handle it.
Can children ride?
From age 6 a child rides their own horse. Younger children may share a parent's saddle, seated in front of or behind the parent, at the parent's discretion. Tell us the ages when you book.
Is there a weight limit?
Yes: the crew sets a maximum of 230 lbs per rider, for the horses. The ride is not for anyone who is pregnant, and nobody rides after drinking.
How much of the ride is on the beach?
Most of it is countryside trail; the beach and the natural bridge are the destination and the photo stop rather than the whole route. Guests who read the reviews first say the desert stretch is the surprise they enjoyed most.
What is included, and what do we bring?
The horse, the guide, a helmet, bottled water and the pickup from the Palm Beach and Oranjestad areas. Wear long pants (or bring a towel for the saddle) and sneakers or closed shoes, never sandals, and bring sunscreen and a camera. There is a bathroom at the ranch and none on the trail.
Can we book from a cruise ship?
Yes; tell us your ship and the port times in the details box and the crew confirms whether the pickup works for your date. The 9:00 AM ride fits a normal port day.
What happens if we cancel?
Until the deposit is paid there is nothing to cancel. After that: cancel 48 hours or more before the activity and the deposit ($23 per person) comes back in full, to the card you paid it on. Inside 48 hours, and for a no-show, the deposit is not refunded, but the date can move or the booking can transfer to someone else in your group. If the crew calls it off for weather, or the departure does not reach its minimum, every cent of the deposit comes back, always, or we rebook you first if you prefer. The balance, $93 per person, goes to the ranch in cash or by Visa or Mastercard (no other cards), on the day, before the ride, so it never sits with us and a cancellation never involves a balance refund from this site. All cut-off times are Aruba time (AST, UTC minus 4, the island keeps the same clock all year). The full matrix is on our refunds page.
