A fifth of the island is national park, and almost none of it is reachable in a rental car. The trail to the Natural Pool is 4x4 only, the caves sit at the end of dirt tracks, and Dos Playa has no road at all. This crew runs it every morning of the working week in open-air vehicles, with a guide who grew up with the stories.
It is the complete park tour: the pool, both caves and the wild beach, in about four hours, with a pastechi at the start and the entrance ticket already paid. The photographs on this page are the crew's own, taken on this route.

Pickup at your hotel
The crew collects you outside the lobby between 7:20 and 7:40 AM, or you drive to their base in Paradera and park for free, 15 minutes before the 8:00 AM start. Either way the morning begins with a freshly made pastechi at a local snack stop, the way islanders start a day out.

Into the park, off the asphalt
An open-air 4x4 takes the rugged trail into Arikok National Park, with the entrance ticket already in your price. The ride is bumpy by design; the guide talks history, geography and the plants and animals of the cunucu as the landscape opens up.
The pool
Conchi, the Natural Pool
About 45 minutes at the pool ringed by volcanic rock, with snorkel and mask and water shoes provided. You swim and snorkel when the park rangers have the pool open and the sea is calm enough; on rough days you watch the waves crash in from the rocks instead, which is a sight of its own.
The caves
Quadirikiri and Fontein
Two limestone caves. Quadirikiri has two sunholes that light the chambers from above; Fontein carries drawings left by the Caiquetio people more than a thousand years ago, and a freshwater pond where tiny fish nibble your feet if you let them. Good walking shoes help here.
Dos Playa
The wild beach
A short walk on Dos Playa, the twin beach on the north coast with white sand and water in every shade of blue. The waves are for looking at, not swimming; the photos are the point.

What happens if we cancel?
Until the deposit is paid there is nothing to cancel. After that: cancel 48 hours or more before the activity and the deposit (varies by option, shown in the booking form) comes back in full, to the card you paid it on. Inside 48 hours, and for a no-show, the deposit is not refunded, but the date can move or the booking can transfer to someone else in your group. If the crew calls it off for weather, or the departure does not reach its minimum, every cent of the deposit comes back, always, or we rebook you first if you prefer.
