Why a Jeep, and not a car
The west coast is easy. Anything with four wheels will take you to Palm Beach and back for dinner. The other Aruba, the one with divi trees bent flat by the trade wind and a coast that looks like it belongs to another ocean, asks for clearance and low gear. Arikok covers a fifth of the island, and the track out to Conchi, the Natural Pool, is rock and rut the whole way.
That is the whole case for the Jeep. Roof open, the day open to whatever you find: the cactus corridor, the ruins on the windward side, the cove nobody put on a map. You go at your own pace, stop where the light is good, and come back salt-crusted and dusty with a day nobody sold you a ticket for.
Their UTVs are not allowed inside Arikok National Park; only their Jeeps are, which is why this page is about the Wrangler and the Gladiator.
One route, start to finish
Their team hands out the map and the restaurant advice with the keys. This is the run most first-timers end up driving, using our own beach and experience notes for what is actually out there.
Morning
Free pick-up and drop-off at the airport, the cruise port, most hotels and Airbnb places. You get the Jeep and a free road map marked with their own tips on where to eat and explore.
Stop one
A fifth of the island, unpaved and quiet: the Fontein and Guadirikiri caves, the windward cliffs, wildlife that ignores you. Their Jeeps are permitted inside. The park entrance fee is not part of the rental.
Stop two
A volcanic rock formation that traps a sheltered tidal pool on the north coast, reachable only by 4x4, ATV, horseback or on foot. Getting there is half of it. You float while the swell breaks over the rim a few feet away.
Stop three
The northwestern tip, named after a steamship that went down nearby in 1891, with 360 degree views over the dunes and Arashi below it. Aventurova name it among their own top destinations.
The long way back
About 40 minutes from the hotel strip: a shallow, calm lagoon and the gentlest water on the island. Worth the drive on the day you want the Jeep to earn its keep in both directions.
Evening
Returns happen at their office in Oranjestad, open Monday to Sunday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Airport returns are not available, so plan the last leg into town.
Two Jeeps, one decision
Both are four-door 4x4s with removable tops, both seat five, both are allowed into the park and out to the Natural Pool. The only real question is where your cooler rides.
Their own Jeep cards also show 4 hour and 8 hour blocks beside the daily rate, so check which one the booking window applies to your dates.

Aventurova is family owned and operated, and the line they put on their own homepage is that their goal is to treat others how they want to be treated. The Jeeps live at their office at Ponton 49 in Oranjestad, which is also where every rental comes back to; the pick-up and drop-off at your hotel, the airport or the cruise port is theirs, and free.

The minimum rental age is 23. You need a valid driver license and a credit card at the time of rental. The security deposit is held on a credit card only, debit cards and cash are not accepted, and every driver has to be listed and authorized in the rental agreement.
It is $500 on the Jeep Wrangler and $500 on the Jeep Gladiator. They state the deposit is released automatically by the bank and can take 14 to 21 business days to show in your account.
